Pisces is hard to find. Although it is the fourteenth largest constellation from the eighty-eight constellations that we can see, spotting the Pisces constellation is not as easy as it may seem. This is due to the fact the stars in Pisces are not as bright as the stars in other constellations. You can only find the stars in Pisces if you are standing in a specific angle in a specific position. You actually won’t be able to spot them unless you are in the northern hemisphere or the southern hemisphere. When in an area with little light pollution, you can also see the stars. It is visible from August through January if you are to see them from the northern hemisphere. They are predominantly visible anytime within the soring months if you are in the southern hemisphere. Its best view is from the north quadrant in the west in the night sky.

The Pisces constellation and its mythological origin. In Greek mythology, there was a monster with a hundred snake heads born by Mother Earth or Gaia. The snakes were supposed to destroy Mount Olympus and kill the gods, and each snake could shoot fire from its eyes. Mother earth was angry that the gods had defeated here children at war and decided to send Typhon (the snake-headed monster). On seeing the Typhon approaching, the gods Aphrodite and her son Eros turned into fish in a bid to get away from the monster. To avoid being separated, they tied a rope around each other’s tails. As a result of the success of their plan, an image of two fish tied together by rope appeared in the night sky as a way of celebrating the success which gave birth to the constellation of Pisces. However, different cultures have a separate myth about the origin of the Pisces constellation. You can come across some cultures that consider the Pisces constellation to be a representation of the koi fish, a species of fish that is not distant from its own myths.
